Kokua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services is seeking Accountant II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the entire finance function, a passion for detail, as well as excellent computer and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties of the Accountant II

• Reconciles general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

• Analyzes and reconciles monthly transactions to ensure that the funds are expended properly and in compliance with contract requirements and budgets.

• Developing expense allocation formulas for corporations and various programs.

• Suggests and as directed helps implement strategies for simplifying and streamlining accounting-related project management, including eliminating inefficiencies and duplication, and helping evaluate and implement effective IT solutions.

• Develops budgets and expenditure and balance, and other reports at both the grant and program level, as requested; creates consolidated reports and tracking systems at the program level to assist Project Coordinators with fund management and projection.

• Helps train program staff in accounting standards, systems, policies, and procedures.

• Provides finance and accounting-related decision-making support for assigned Program Coordinators. Advises Program Coordinators on future funding needs of assigned programs.

• Works with Project Coordinator and Grant Writer to prepare various staffing models and budget scenarios for funding proposals.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills of Accountant II Applicants

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field.

• At least three years working experiences as accountant.
